Khayr — Mobile App for Spiritual Support
Khayr is a mobile application designed to support new converts to Islam while offering meaningful resources to Muslims at any stage of their spiritual journey. The name Khayr, meaning goodness, well-being, and kindness in Arabic, reflects the app’s mission: to nurture spiritual growth and provide care and compassion to the Muslim community.
The app addresses common challenges faced by new converts, including limited resources, guidance, and support, by providing a discreet, easy-to-use platform. Key features include the Quran, a zikr counter, a media hub with Quran audio, podcasts, and live lectures, along with tools to enhance Arabic and Islamic knowledge. A standout feature is Khayr’s 24/7 support system, connecting users with Imams, life coaches, or therapists for both spiritual and emotional guidance. Each session also contributes to charity, turning support into an act of Sadaqa.
About My Thesis
For my thesis, I wanted to create something deeply meaningful and reflective of my own experiences. As a born Muslim, I’ve navigated personal fluctuations in faith, and through Khayr, I aimed to build a tool that uplifts both new and lifelong Muslims. This project allowed me to combine my design skills with my desire to contribute purposefully to the community, strengthening the connection between individuals and their faith.

The 24/7 therapy option in Khayr serves as a support hotline for Muslims—especially new converts, providing constant access to trusted therapists, life coaches, or community leaders who understand their unique spiritual and personal needs, helping them grow, feel heard, and stay connected on their journey at any hour at an affordable rate.

Media Collection + Zikr (Meditation) Counter
The integrated media collection features YouTube videos, audio content, and more—all curated for credibility and clarity, to ensure new converts have a reliable source of Islamic knowledge in one accessible space. Alongside this, the Zikr counter offers a discreet and guided way to engage in the remembrance of Allah, with prompts for authentic duas, helping users build a consistent and spiritually fulfilling practice wherever they are.

Khayr includes an easy-to-use dua collection, with authentic supplications organized by topic to help users find the right dua for any situation. The Quran feature includes full text with clear translations, a colourful layout, and unique visual images for each surah—making it easier to connect and reflect on meanings.
